Tony da Luz enters finished 11th season at the the    
                                                    helm of the women's soccer team at Wake Wake     
                                                    Forest University. He has led the Demon Demon      
                                                    Deacons to an impressive streak of 11 11                
                                                    consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and     
                                                    under his tutelage, Wake Forest has never never       
                                                    experienced a losing season.

                                                    Under his guidance, 24 Deacs have earned All- All-  
                                                 ACC honors, including seven first- team                     
                                                 team selections and two ACC Rookie of the of            
                                                 Year winners. Da Luz has helped guide two Freshmen
All-Americans and six to the ACC All-Freshman team. Also, 15 Deacs have been named
All-Southeast Region and seven have been selected to ACC Championship all-tournament
teams, while the team has continually been ranked among the top-25 in the nation.

Selected the 1998 ACC Coach of the Year by a vote of his peers, da Luz led Wake
Forest to a 13-7-1 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the powerful ACC regular season
race, good for a fourth-place finish.

Prior to coming to Wake Forest, da Luz coached five years at the University of San
Diego, where he compiled a 46-42-3 record. Da Luz was entrusted with starting the San
Diego program from the ground up in 1992 and in his final two seasons he guided his
teams to a 25-13-2 mark.

His final season at San Diego was his most impressive, leading the Toreros to a 15-7-1
record and into the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 1996.

His success at San Diego earned him West Coast Conference Coach of the Year honors
in 1996. He was named the West Region Coach of the Year by the National Soccer
Coaches Association.

Da Luz has been coaching for 18 years. He worked as an assistant coach for the San
Diego men's team from 1985 until 1991. He has also been active in coaching at the youth
level with his involvement with the Winston-Salem Twins Club organizations.

Da Luz achieved success as a player as a midfielder and defender while at San Diego. He
was an All-WCC honorable mention selection in both 1981 and 1982. As team captain in
1982, he led the Toreros in assists and earned the team MVP award.

Da Luz earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from San Diego in 1985.
He and his wife, Amy, reside in Winston-Salem with their children Tyler, Austin and
Jonah.  The Da Luz family are also celebrating the 2007 Men's Soccer National
Championship with son #6 Austin Da Luz.

A past member of the coaching staff for
the U.S. Under-18 Women's National
Team and the U.S. Under-23 Men's
National Team, Thorp has also served
on the coaching staff for the Carolina
Dynamo (USL) in 1999 and the
Delaware Wizards (USL) and the
Delaware Genies (WUSL) in 1998.
Thorp also owns a USSF "A" coaching
license.

After his collegiate playing career at
Delaware, Thorp started his coaching
career a year later. He graduated in
1995 with a bachelor's degree in
engineering. Thorp also played a
season of semi-pro soccer for the Dublin
Grangewoodbine in Ireland's First
Division.

Thorp, a native of Bear, Del., enjoys
billiards, golf and plays bass guitar in a
local band, Queue.

Wake Forest graduate Meghan (Suddes) Cox is
entering her seventh season on the coaching staff. Cox
played four seasons for Tony da Luz, two years at San
Diego and two at Wake Forest.

A skilled forward for the Demon Deacons in 1997 and
1998, Cox scored 11 goals and recorded four assists at
Wake Forest, totaling 24 goals and eight assists in her
career. Voted the Freshman of the Year for San Diego
Leading the team in scoring her sophomore year for the
Toreros, Cox was ranked ninth in the West Coast
Conference with 10 goals.

Spending her summers from 1996-99 playing soccer in
the USISL W-League, Cox spent three years with the
Columbus Ziggs and one year with the Piedmont Triad
Spark.

Meghan is married to Jon Cox, also a Wake Forest
graduate. They recently welcomed a baby boy in April
and reside in Winston-Salem. She enjoys spending
time with her family mountain biking, skiing and
traveling.
